What are the risks of using a kaspad watchdog to auto-reboot mining rigs?
Configuring your kaspad server as a watchdog that automatically restarts miners or reboots rigs can backfire badly if the kaspad node itself goes down or loses sync. A watchdog is an automated monitor: it watches your miner's health and triggers a restart when something looks wrong. The problem is that if kaspad is offline or out of sync, the watchdog may mistake that server-side issue for a miner fault and begin rebooting every connected rig repeatedly — a cycle that stresses hardware and prolongs the outage rather than fixing it. Because of this risk, it is safer to configure the kaspad watchdog to send alerts and monitor activity rather than to trigger automatic reboots.
