Why does Kaspa's connection system prioritize geographic diversity?
Kaspa's connection management system actively maintains diverse geographic connections to strengthen network security. When your node picks peers, it uses latency-based peer selection — choosing connections partly based on network response time, which naturally spans different regions of the world. The result is a cross-cluster web of connections rather than a tight local cluster. This diversity means no single attacker or regional outage can easily cut a node off from the rest of the network. For a beginner, geographic diversity in peer connections is the reason Kaspa nodes are significantly harder to isolate or deceive than nodes that connect randomly or locally.
