What is a dwork (sompi) in Kaspa?
A dwork — also called a sompi — is the smallest unit of KAS, Kaspa's native currency. Just as one US dollar can be broken into 100 cents, one KAS is divided into 100,000,000 dworks (10⁸). All transaction input and output values inside the Kaspa network are recorded in dworks rather than whole KAS, which lets the system handle very precise amounts without rounding errors. Knowing this matters when you read raw transaction data or use Kaspa developer tools — if a value looks unexpectedly large, divide it by 100,000,000 to convert it back to KAS.
